Need And Want What Is The Difference
We all want things and we all need
things, but when does something supersede being a need over a want? This is a
logical question because it seems there’s a lot more impulse spending than
actually making a sound choice in what is considered a need over a want.
There
are things in this world that are a need such as shelter, food, clothing, and
medicine, but wants are things that don’t fall into the category of a
necessity. If that were the case there wouldn’t be so much debt in the world
and people having to strap down to make payments for things they can’t afford
to have and the hard thing is when people continuously go through spender’s
regret because they are stuck in a financial rut and when people try to give
tips on how to conserve money it seems like this one piece of educational
advice doesn’t really sink into someone’s head until they’re swamped with bills
for things they can’t afford to have. The sad thing is that it’s an educational
tool that comes too late for some people when they’re actually sitting there
faced with a mountain of overdue bills and other expenses.
Sometimes it’s great to splurge, but
many do it too much and can get out of control after a certain point and this
can affect relationships since many relationships are affected when it revolves
around money and that’s usually not a good thing when that happens because of
the added stress of being broke brings to many people including those who are
just getting out there on their own and getting their feet wet and trying
conquer the big bad world and when they get too far into debt because they’re
trying to live large and don’t have the finances to take care of the bills when
they come in. This is along the lines of what makes parents want to lose their mind
when their children call home needing money all the time when there’s an issue
when the educating of sensible spending comes into play.
The problem many parents have is
knowing when to put tough love into effect and give them a piece of valuable
advice about money which comes in the form of having to cut off the child and
tell him or her that it’s time to get a job and to work and earn your own money
in terms of learning how to save and budget money that’s probably the most
effective way to get a child to grow up when they’re busy spending money that
they didn’t work for on things they don’t need. When you have things you don’t
need and you don’t have the money to pay your bills on time what does that say
about you as a person when you can’t keep up with your car notes and rent? It
doesn’t look very good and that doesn’t make you very dependable in the terms
of keeping your bills paid on time.
