How Do I Make Money Easily Read The Case Of Melissa Turner
I met Melissa Turner through a
friend, last Christmas, while at a charity function at our local town hall. She
was a struggling graphic designer who was trying to establish her own agency
and wanted me as a client. At the time I did need some new stationary design,
so I let her re-do my logo and stationary materials. I am a life coach and
motivational speaker and it came as a surprise to me when she contacted me one
morning to get some advice on her business goals.
Melissa Turner is a bright, young,
intelligent lady, but her business was tapping her savings dramatically. The
office space she was leasing was costing her way too much and the overheads
were not being covered by her cash flow. She was in major difficulty and was on
an unsustainable path to financial loss. Indeed as she explained to me on the
phone, she was nearing the end of her savings and was beside herself with
disappointment and dejection.
I listened to her difficulties
carefully and asked her questions which clarified the issues. Finally I asked
her a general question that was very revealing. I asked her why she wants to
build an advertising agency? Her response took me by surprise. She told me she
knew that advertising agencies make a lot of money and having studied as a
graphic designer at college, she thought this was her path to financial
freedom.
This brought up another pertinent
question for me and I asked her why do you want to become wealthy? She said I
don't necessarily want to become wealthy although it would be nice, but her
parents work hard as laborers all their lives. She watched them as a child come
home tired and unhappy and she wanted to find an easier way to make her money.
Also she wanted to have the funds to help them out in their now later years.
I listened with great interest and I
was moved by this young person's integrity and noble intentions. I also noticed
something she failed to recognize. As a life coach, I am adept at zeroing in on
peoples motivations and the reasons behind their efforts. I have learned over
the years, that uncovering those, what I call base intentions is a liberating
event and free's the person to go on and achieve everything they want when they
get their premise right.
What I noticed, was that
psychologically, Melissa Turner was stuck in her business. The reason why she
was not making progress, was not because of ineptitude or bad business
practice, but because of her difficulty recognizing her base intention. Her
psychology was wrapped around the concept of making money easily. In her mind,
she needed her business to deliver an income easily to her, and she
unconsciously was blocking contracts and jobs that required large amounts of
work.
There is nothing wrong with what her
self concept was telling her. Effortless easy money is just as valuable as hard
difficult money that you broke your back for. I began to formulate some idea's
for Melissa and I explained these insights to her. I then went ahead and made a
suggestion that shocked her at first. I told her to quit her advertising agency
business idea. The reason why is that advertising agencies CAN make a lot of
money but not without large amounts of work. Her self concept and the things
she told herself over the years was so ingrained, that she cannot possibly make
the advertising agency work simply because too much work is required and she
will no doubt sabotage her own success in one way or another.
What she required was a whole new
game plan. Ending that phone conversation, we made a time to consult in person.
In the mean time, I researched several avenues of pursuit for her. The main
criteria was that it was a way to make money easily, so her mind felt
comfortable earning that money and therefore did not sabotage her efforts.
Within one hour of research I had arrived at the perfect solution for her.
The following day, I met with Melissa
Turner. I assessed her situation further and it came out her available cash was
very low. I joked, "well you are lucky I am not charging you". She
blushed uncontrollably. Indeed I wasn't charging her, I was intrigued by this
persons situation and was acting purely in professional curiosity and interest.
As a side note, not 5 weeks later, I received a check marked from Melissa
Turner, for $10,000 no phone call, no letter of explanation, nothing, she is
doing quite well today.
But at the time she was cold broke.
So she needed a business avenue that required very little start up capital and
lots of upside potential. But above all it had to be easy money. I was convinced
this would be the solution to her problem. She even stated once during the
course of our conversation's that she remembers a memory fragment, once when
she was a child when she made a solemn oath to her self, and there was a tear
welling in her eye as she spoke, that she would never wind up as tired and
unhappy as her Mom and Dad. In her child's mind, that meant, when she got home
from work she would not be tired and physically hurting, that she would have a
large income and the money would be easily gotten.
The final criteria for the solution I
sought for Melissa was that it be something that anyone can do. That it didn't
require going back to school or training. Something that can be picked up in a
day and the cash starts rolling in straight away. I did find a unique solution
for her and it worked exceptionally well.
The hour of research I did for
Melissa earned me an un-asked for $10,000 check from her, but the income she
makes from Google ad words would cover that check while she slept over night. You
see, I was looking for something leveraged and automated. I knew her psychology
demanded easy income. That was a major clue to me, and my mind screamed
automated income as a solution. My first investigation was vending machines.
Things like video games that are placed in arcades or laundry machine business.
Where the customer serves themselves. Where the income is completely automated.
But this required a capital injection, then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
What is the worlds biggest vending
machine??? The Internet of course! Work done on the Internet pays, days weeks
months and years after that day of work is done. Unlike a job, where one starts
from scratch every day, doing some work on the Internet is self propagating. So
your efforts are leveraged. This I was certain was the solution.
I stumbled on a website that shows
how to use other peoples products. There is a select number of corporations
offering their products to ordinary people with extremely high commissions.
Essentially what I showed Melissa that day, was quote an astounding business
model. To develop your own product or even source products from Asia to import would have been out of the question. But
to have large corporations offering you their products to sell at commissions
of 75% now that was a usable split.
All she had to do was advertise these
products on Google Ad words and watch her conversion ratio's and just watch the
cash roll in. A perfect solution.
Mellissa Turner had a problem. Today,
Melissa Turner doesn't have that problem anymore. Today Melissa Turner earns
her money with dignity and with ease. She works from home in the comfort of her
home office. Today, Melissa Turner can buy for herself and her parents,
anything that she wants, because Melissa Turner had the intelligence to ask for
help.
